Angel House Australia Foundation presents our very successful Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) Program.

Mel Mardon's approach to equine assisted psychotherapy is truly remarkable. By combining her love for horses and people, she has been able to deliver evidence-based outcomes in a third of the time that talk therapy has produced. Mel believes that interacting with these extraordinary creatures can teach us about ourselves, our behaviours, emotions, and life in ways that traditional talk therapy cannot achieve.

The EAP Program is designed to help participants understand that equine assisted psychotherapy is not just about horse riding. Instead, it focuses on building a relationship between horse and human, establishing trust, and building confidence. By understanding horse and human behaviours, participants can enhance their self-concept. Horse riding is a reward for achieving these outcomes, not a right from the beginning.
